Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and former chef at the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her famous spiky blonde hair and pumped-up persona on the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, shares an easy and straightforward methods for cooks at home. Chef Burrell was employed in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine tradition and its geography. Also, she was a contestant on Iron Chef America on Food Network. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. The Culinary Institute of America has sparked her interest in the management of restaurants after she graduated with an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of American student. I was awed by every moment." I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Burrell gained a greater appreciation of Italian culinary and cultural traditions during her stay in Italy and this has affected her cooking style. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of struggling children. Burrell is also an Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Advocate, where she has a mission to raise awareness for young diabetics. She speaks about her cooking passion, and also shares her knowledge of the culinary world when she goes on trips across the USA in the roles of speakers and mentors. Anne has stated throughout her professional career she is incredibly fortunate to be able be able to share what's most important to her.
